Correct

Correct. Random assignment (free random assignment)
of participants to conditions is not used in correlated-groups
designs.  Random assignment requires that each participant
be included in only one condition. Therefore, with within-subjects
designs we cannot have free random assignment. However,
with matched-subjects designs, we can use matched random
assignment. To do this we could match participants on a variable
(e.g., age) and create two or more groups. We can then randomly
assign those matched groups to the experimental conditions.
