Florence Goodenough’s contributions to psychology began in the 1920s. Mental testing is one of the most significant developments in American functional psychology, and Goodenough was a significant contributor to psychological test construction (e.g., the Goodenough Draw-A-Man Test). In 1949, she published a definitive history of the development of the mental testing movement (Mental Testing: Its History, Principles, and Applications).
