There are four important points here: (1) constructs are
ideas created (i.e.,
constructed) by the researcher;
(2) constructs are created by a process of
inference;
(3) the inference can be based on observed facts and/or on
other
constructs; (4) once created, constructs can serve as
the bases for making
predictions about new observations.
