research can
demonstrate causal relationships. The main
reason is that at those levels of
constraint, independent
variables are not manipulated and internal validity
cannot
be confidently attained. If many strong correlations among
specific
variables are repeatedly found, then we can hold a
strong suspicion that there
may be causal connections, but to
demonstrate that suspected causality, we have
to move
to the experimental level of research.
