Differential and correlational research are interpreted
in a similar fashion.
At these levels of constraint, variables
cannot be manipulated by the researcher
and therefore
causality cannot be inferred. When a strong correlation or
a
highly significant difference between groups in a differential
design are found,
we cannot infer that an independent
variable is causally related to a dependent
variable.
