No way is correlation research an extension of
experimentation! In
correlation research, unlike
experimental research, there is no need for more
than
one group of subjects, there is no independent variable
or dependent
variable, there is no manipulation of an
independent variable, and there is no
determination of
causal relationships among variables. Correlational studies
test the strength and direction of relationships between variables;
experimentation tests causal relationships. How different can you get?
