The debriefing session should remove any lingering
problems due to the
deception. For example, if the
deception was designed to decrease a person's
confidence,
it would be important to tell people that they were
deceived and
that the information they were given
during the study was inaccurate. In that
way, the impact
of the experimental manipulation will be dissipated.
