These are the resources that have been developed to enhance the study of the material in the text. The primary resource is the Study Guide/Lab Manual, but we have also included some other resources to help students master the material and to check their knowledge.
This is an extensive Study Guide, which provides systematic review and testing of the material covered in each chapter. For each chapter, there is a chapter summary, a list of key terms, fill-in-the-blank questions, true/false questions, multiple choice questions, essay questions, and suggested readings. Many of these sections provide immediate feedback and helpful hints.
The Lab Manual section provides hands-on practice exercises and more extended laboratory tasks that provide actual practice on the skills needed to competently design research.
These provide overviews of the topics from each of the chapters. These are the basic lectures made available to instructor's to facilitate their lecture preparation. Most instructors will expand and customize these basic lectures. Nevertheless, they are a good overview of the content of each chapter.
The glossary reproduces the glossary in the textbook, except that some of the definitions have been expanded and there are links among related terms. In addition, the key terms in the Study Guide are all linked to the appropriate definition in the glossary.
